Plan Your Visit to Heidrun Meadery

Yes, please do come visit us out in Point Reyes Station. It's an experience like no other! Tours are by reservation only and are offered Saturdays and Sundays. Same-day reservations are not a problem, just call in advance so we can be ready for you. For tastings, no reservations are necessary unless your party exceeds 10 people, or if you plan to arrive by limousine or bus.

Buses, limousines and parties of 10 or more people must make reservations prior to visiting. Please specify one of the following options when you make your reservation:

Custom weekday tours by special arrangement. Tours require a minimum of 4 guests.
  • *Tour and Tasting
    Tour our production facility and find out how sparkling mead is made, observe honey bees in action and learn about our bee forage cultivation operation, all while enjoying a sampling of four or more of our wonderfully refreshing sparkling mead varietals.

    $25/person, about an hour. Tour fee is waived with the purchase of 4 bottles or more.

    *Tour reservations for groups of 4 or more require a credit card to hold the space. Please call to book.
  • Tasting Flight**
    Congregate in the greenhouse to taste through a flight of four or more sparkling mead varietals under the guidance of one of our veritable Valkyries.

    $15/person, about 30 minutes

    **Tasting fees are waived with the purchase of three or more bottles (per person).
  • Patio Leisure
    Enjoy a glass or bottle with friends while peacefully sunning on our tranquil garden patio.
  • Picnicking
    Picnics are fine on a first-come-first-tabled basis or can be booked in advance. On weekends and holidays, there is a $5/person fee to use the picnic tables for up to two hours (for groups up to 10 people). No open flames or outside alcohol are allowed and all trash must be taken with you.
  • Private Picnic Area in Olive Grove
    Available to rent by the hour for groups of 11 to 40 people. Please email carly@heidrunmeadery.com for details.
  • Private Parties
    Please contact carly@heidrunmeadery.com for information and availability.
Because of the farm-and-people dynamic here, dogs are not encouraged. If you do bring a dog, it must be well behaved and on leash at all times. No dogs are permitted inside any buildings. Scoop it and take it with you, please.

  • Proceed 14.5 miles north on Hwy. 101.
  • Take exit 456 (Lucas Valley Road).
  • Turn left (west) onto Lucas Valley Road and proceed 10.3 miles to Nicasio Valley Road.
  • Turn right (north) onto Nicasio Valley Road and proceed 4 miles to Petaluma/Point Reyes Road.
  • Turn left (west) onto Petaluma/Point Reyes Road
  • Proceed 3.0 miles to the stop sign at the little painted bridge.
  • Turn right (north) to remain on Petaluma/Point Reyes Road.
  • Proceed 3.1 miles to the stop sign at State Route 1.
  • Turn right (north) onto State Route 1 and proceed 500 yards.
  • Destination is on the left (11925 State Route 1).
  • From Interstate 80 (west or east), go west on Interstate 580.
  • Take I-580 12.9 miles.
  • Take exit 1A (Highway 101 North).
  • Proceed north on Highway 101 4.9 miles.
  • Take exit 456 (Lucas Valley Road).
  • Turn left (west) onto Lucas Valley Road and proceed 10.3 miles to Nicasio Valley Road.
  • Turn right (north) onto Nicasio Valley Road and proceed 4 miles to Petaluma/Point Reyes Road.
  • Turn left (west) onto Petaluma/Point Reyes Road.
  • Proceed 3.0 miles to the stop sign at the little painted bridge.
  • Turn right (north) to remain on Petaluma/Point Reyes Road.
  • Proceed 3.1 miles to the stop sign at State Route 1.
  • Turn right (north) onto State Route 1 and proceed 500 yards.
  • Destination is on the left (11925 State Route 1).
  • Go south on Highway 101.
  • Take exit 474 (E. Washington Street, Petaluma).
  • Turn right (southwest) onto E. Washington Street.
  • Proceed 0.5 miles to Lakeville Street.
  • Turn left onto Lakeville Street.
  • Proceed 0.1 miles to East D Street.
  • Turn right onto East D Street.
  • Proceed on east D Street (as it becomes Petaluma/Point Reyes Road) for 10.8 miles to the stop sign at the little painted bridge.
  • Turn right (north) to remain on Petaluma/Point Reyes Road.
  • Proceed 3.1 miles to the stop sign at State Route 1.
  • Turn right (north) onto State Route 1 and proceed 500 yards.
  • Destination is on the left (11925 State Route 1).

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

  • Why drive when you can catch a ride? Our fair town of Point Reyes Station is served by Route 68 of the West Marin Stagecoach, which connects directly to the San Rafael Transit Center, serving the entire Bay Area. To determine the optimal route and itinerary to the meadery from your place of origin, visit 511.org, and use their Public Transit Planner (including ferry service from San Francisco) to get from there to here and back again. We're just a ten-minute walk from the bus stop in Point Reyes Station!
