Part-Time Tasting Room Staff
Sunday Shift (10:30am - approximately 6pm)
On-call for back-up shifts throughout the week.
ABOUT US
Heidrun Meadery, located along iconic CA State Route 1 just north of the Golden Gate Bridge in Point Reyes Station, is an artisan producer of brut dry, naturally sparkling honey wine fermented and bottled on-site using the traditional French Methode Champenoise. On our 16-acre farm, we maintain a bee-friendly horticultural program and operate a commercial beekeeping operation with satellite apiaries. We host local and international visitors seven day per week in our greenhouse tasting room. Using our expansive farmscape as a stage, we provide our guests a unique opportunity to experience the entire natural ecology of honey wine, “from flower to flute”. Our hospitality and atmosphere can best be described as farm-friendly, educational and respectful.
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for part-time servers interesting in joining our hospitality team. Candidates must be energetic, enthusiastic, excellent communicators and must be able to work weekends. Our ideal candidates will have professional front-of-house experience in the wine, restaurant or hospitality industry. An interest in the natural sciences and all aspects of our business is also helpful.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Setting up and breaking down of Tasting Room
- Welcoming and serving local and international customers.
- Maintaining flexibility and calm in a sometimes fast-paced, high-pressure and dynamic environment.
- Willingness to learn our mead-making process through our in-depth training process to help educate and best serve our customers.
- Anticipation of guest needs and proactively addressing any issues or requests
- Cleaning and maintaining an organized work environment
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Willingness to participate in occasional tasks in conjunction with Tasting Room as duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must be 21 years or older with the ability to lift multiple bottles of mead at once and up to 50 pound boxes throughout the day. Our Tasting Room servers are frequently required to bend, walk and reach with hands and arms and stand for long periods of time throughout their shift.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Previous front-of-house experience in wine, restaurant or hospitality industry
- Friendly, outgoing and confident with exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work autonomously and bring a collaborative spirit when working with others.
- Detail oriented with an ability to multitask
- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Professional yet casual appearance and demeanor
COMPENSATION
Compensation is based on experience and includes an hourly wage, tips and sales commission.
