Bo' Wildflower
Our finest mead varietals are those produced from honey we harvest from our own hives located in botanically distinct apiaries in Northern California. One such location is the seaside hamlet of Bolinas (affectionately referred to as Bo'), renowned for its counter-culture, surfing and dense eucalyptus forest. It's the latter that originally attracted us to keeping bees there; eucalyptus nectar is an extraordinarily rich source of nutrients for bees and the honey our bees derive from that nectar has a lovely herbal character.
Our 2024 release of Bo' Wildflower is bright straw in color, with a fine effervescence and delicate mousse. Its bouquet is reminiscent of the herbal and damp-earth aroma of an August alpine meadow in full bloom. On the palate, the mead is brut dry and full-bodied, slightly savory, with a citrus acidity and flavor characteristics that closely echo its wildflower aroma. We have just 50 cases of this varietal.
