Ethiopian Geteme Blossom
In Stock
Geteme honey is produced using traditional Ethiopian biodynamic methods in the south and southwestern afromontane region of the country. Producing this honey often requires trekking deep into the forest, where farmers hoist their handmade cylindrical hives as high as 20 meters into the trees – a feat of mind-boggling mechanics that provides honeybees with ample access to quality forage. The honey tastes of sweet, fresh spring flowers with concentrated rose notes. In Ethiopia at large, beekeeping is an ancient agricultural practice and Tej, a honey-based beer, is a very popular libation there.
